The Big-D Idaho Falls office began, in earnest, in 2013 when a project construction team with ties to Eastern Idaho was relocated to Rexburg, Idaho to manage the construction of the Central Energy Facility project at BYU-Idaho. Company leadership then discovered there were other employees from Eastern Idaho eager to pursue more work locally. In turn, Big-D encouraged their eagerness and desire to establish a presence throughout Eastern Idaho. That presence continued to grow until Big-D officially opened a regional office in Idaho Falls in 2018.
Big-D Idaho Falls is proud to offers clients the ability to work directly with a local contractor who can devote a higher level of attention to projects, typical of a smaller contractor, but who is also backed by the significant resources of a much larger firm. The Big-D Lindon office opened in 2005 with the focus to increase Big-D’s presence in Utah County. The Lindon office constructs a wide range of project types annually, with key market sectors being commercial buildings, higher education facilities, multi-family housing, industrial, and mining projects. Big-D Lindon is a fully self-sufficient office, able to offer comprehensive Preconstruction and Construction services, and is staffed with a Preconstruction Director, a team of estimators, and a variety of market-specific construction team members.
Building and maintaining local client relationships has always been the driving factor for the Lindon office but being local for their employees who appreciate working on projects close to home and minimizing long commutes is equally as important. Big-D Construction was founded in 1967 in Ogden. It was our original home, first headquarters, and where it all started. The Ogden office is where our company culture and core values were forged and where Big Dee and his founding leaders built a company based on equal respect for customers and employees. The Ogden operation grew quickly, taking on larger and more notable projects in the food and beverage processing, manufacturing and industrial warehouse sectors. The Salt Lake City Airport Operations Center (AOC) was built in preparation of the Salt Lake City International Airport Redevelopment project to relocate key functions of Airport Operations in a single, updated building. The AOC includes a state-of-the-art Control Center, Badging Office, Engineering Division, and the Salt Lake City Police Department Airport Bureau offices.
The project, technically a remodel of a former FedEx building, is nearly all new as only the steel framed, masonry wall core and shell were salvaged. The project began with demolition of the entire interior and removal and replacement of 90% of the concrete floor slab. Big-D constructed the new architectural layout and finishes, a communications tower and advanced communications system, and new efficient mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems.

The High Valley Transit Complex is the first new and permanent facility for High Valley Transit. The project will be delivered in phases and includes three single-story structures—a Maintenance Building, Bus Storage Building, and an Operations &amp; Administration Building—as well as a fuel dispensing station; facility generator; bus charging facilities, and all associated site development. The Operations &amp; Administration building will consist primarily of offices. The Maintenance Building will feature three maintenance bays, a bus wash bay, tire, parts and fluids storage, an office and employee break area, and support spaces. The Bus Storage Building will accommodate 24 buses and has hi-speed rollup doors on both ends, impact-resistant interior columns, and a small amount of support space. Big-D will self-perform the concrete scope of work on the project and the expected completion date for the last phase—the Operations &amp; Administration Building—is spring of 2024.
