The Big-D Idaho Falls office began, in earnest, in 2013 when a project construction team with ties to Eastern Idaho was relocated to Rexburg, Idaho to manage the construction of the Central Energy Facility project at BYU-Idaho. Company leadership then discovered there were other employees from Eastern Idaho eager to pursue more work locally. In turn, Big-D encouraged their eagerness and desire to establish a presence throughout Eastern Idaho. That presence continued to grow until Big-D officially opened a regional office in Idaho Falls in 2018.
Big-D Idaho Falls is proud to offers clients the ability to work directly with a local contractor who can devote a higher level of attention to projects, typical of a smaller contractor, but who is also backed by the significant resources of a much larger firm. With Big-D Idaho Falls you receive the best of both worlds – the dedication of an earnest small contractor and the resources, professionalism, and experience of a much larger organization.
While the roots of Big-D Construction are ever-expanding, our Idaho Falls office takes a community-centered approach to our work. The Big-D Lindon office opened in 2005 with the focus to increase Big-D’s presence in Utah County. The Lindon office constructs a wide range of project types annually, with key market sectors being commercial buildings, higher education facilities, multi-family housing, industrial, and mining projects. Big-D Lindon is a fully self-sufficient office, able to offer comprehensive Preconstruction and Construction services, and is staffed with a Preconstruction Director, a team of estimators, and a variety of market-specific construction team members.
Building and maintaining local client relationships has always been the driving factor for the Lindon office but being local for their employees who appreciate working on projects close to home and minimizing long commutes is equally as important. Big-D Construction was founded in 1967 in Ogden. It was our original home, first headquarters, and where it all started. The Ogden office is where our company culture and core values were forged and where Big Dee and his founding leaders built a company based on equal respect for customers and employees. The Ogden operation grew quickly, taking on larger and more notable projects in the food and beverage processing, manufacturing and industrial warehouse sectors. The Gateway project is a massive walking community encompassing three city blocks. Block A contains a mixture of restaurants, parking, retail and office space. The parking structure is 554,000 square feet and contains 1,482 stalls on four levels (with two underground).
A tunnel connects to other blocks of the project. The retail space boasts 264,000 square feet and includes a 12-screen theater, an Imax screen, upscale restaurants and a new home for Utah’s Clark Planetarium. The retail and office space is contained in two buildings, separated by a pedestrian mall with a water feature. The highlight of the southern end of the block is a 136,000-square-foot office on six levels.

This project was for the construction of multiple tenant amenities at the Cottonwood Corporate Center office complex. The work took place in buildings 9 and 10 of the Center and included interior and exterior improvements. In Building 9, interior renovations were completed to create a new coffee bar and lounge area and a game lounge. A new dedicated Conference Center was built in Building 10 that features a folding door that enables the room to be subdivided into two varying size smaller conference rooms, improving functionality for tenant companies. The exterior scope of work was for the addition of a sizeable outdoor recreation space that features seating areas with firepits, additional outdoor tables and seating, ping pong tables, and the first pickleball court built at an office complex in the state of Utah.
